Abstract

The writing will focus on the responsibilities of sailors to adhere to the Navy Standards prescribed in 1610.10J. Moreover, it will focus both on what the Navy desires to be the norm and the effect it has on leadership to enforce the regulations and the sailors adherence to the standards. As well as possible improvements that can be implemented in the future. Drawing from junior officer experiences with the enforcement of the orders prescribed and present sailors opinion on the effectiveness of the Physical Wellness program in up-keeping of Good Order and Discipline in the Naval Forces. In this study we try to explore the concept of A Challenging Good Order and Discipline in the Navy: Physical Wellness in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on Physical Wellness and its relation with Navy rules and regulation. The research also analyzes many aspects of responsibilities of sailors to adhere to the Navy Standards prescribed and tries to gauge its effect on leadership. Finally the research describes various factors of the Physical Wellness program and tries to describe the overall effect of Naval Forces on Physical Wellness.

A Challenging Good Order and Discipline: Physical Wellness

Introduction

This is a modern era with modern naval ship system that is outfitted with most elaborate, sensitive and sophisticated man machine system. In this war era, not only U.S. Navy System is incorporating these man machine system in their watch organizations, all countries are engaging to adopt new tactical in standing watches (Proper, Koning & Beek 106). At sea stations, a visual communication comprises on messages that require immediate and compliance. By using the tactical communications, ship or sea stations are gathered in maneuvered and formation jointly as a unit. Aircraft, combat information, weapons are synchronized for mutual defense or attack of the groups. Physical wellness is one of the most important aspects of your health. Even clear predominance of the body can cope better if it is kept in shape (Opnavinst 6110.1J, p. 4). This can be achieved already in everyday life in a simple way, by any possibility of movement is used. Moderate, regular exercise can prevent or alleviate many diseases.

Physical Wellness

Participate in a year-round physical fitness program to meet Navy fitness and BCA standards. The physical fitness of the sailors consists of medical screening, BCA and PRT. A PHA is an annual requirement (reference (g)). Members who do not have a current PHA shall not participate in a PRT or physical conditioning.

These trainings are specially design for them to provide better mental and physical strength to all the sailors. The test requirement is very strict for all those individuals who apply for the navy and these tests include special requirements related to the physical activities. The main test includes swimming, pull-ups, running, sit-ups etc.
