Heart of Darkness
Introduction
Honesty is the best policy is an old saying but, in certain circumstances we speak lie for the sake of others.
The important and problematic character in the Heart of darkness was Kurtz other than Marlow. Marlow did not have the complete information about Kurtz and he took him as the agent of Africa. Marlow did not know what he should think about Kurtz and everybody in the story disliked Kurtz for several reasons. He did what he thought right to him (Conrad, 2006, pp. 3-71). He wanted to know more about Kurtz before making any opinion about him. He found Kurtz as an important person and studied the history about Kurtz. Kurtz was very powerful and people hated him. In order to only tell the truth, Marlow found wrong to hurt an innocent woman and Marlow did not want that she realized about the evil heart of her fiancé. She thought that her fiancé was loved and appreciated by everyone. If she came to know about the things conducted by Kurtz, then it would have destroyed her at a first place. Now, it is up to the readers either to take it as a right action conducted by Marlow by not hurting the woman or a wrong action. Marlow met a man who ...
