Emily Dickinson is being acknowledged as one of the original and most important poets by the critics, she is praised as one of the emerging poets from the American literary tradition. Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was a poet, whose passionate poetry has placed its author in the small pantheon of founding American poet's today share with Edgar Allan Poe, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman. Furthermore, the critics claimed that Emily Dickinson's poetry does not seemed mature enough or polished in terms of proving to be a conventional romantic verse which was being published in the leading periodicals of the day. (Paul, pp 12-45).
