Abortion Pro-life and Pro-choice
Introduction
The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy is referred to as abortion leading to killing a child. Sociologists are more interested to know its nuts and bolts (i.e. ethical and social values, i.e. who, what, where, when and why a female got abortion) rather than it's cultural values and would put less emphasis on the meaning of abortion. There are two sides to this abortion topic, the PRO-Life, individuals who are against abortion altogether, they belief the fetus is living, and they consider abortion equal where as the PRO-Choice, individuals who thinks that it should be the woman's right to decide if she wants to have an abortion or not. She should have a right for whatever health care she requires and she should be in command of her own body. These two groups offer different solutions to this problem (Norman E. Himes & A. J. Rongy 1934).
Discussion
Through out the world the abortions cases are increasing in number. Exploration of multiple moral, social and religious values are still required in the subject of abortion, this situation has recently been geared up by factors such as economic and social factors (Edwin M. Schur, 1955). Abortion is basically an act filled with emotion, anger, sadness, and most of all questions, having a bid impact on the way we live and think today in this age and day. It is still controversial because it involves one's definition of social values and life as a human where as a legal analyst are reviewing this subject for decades. All most every society has practiced abortion, and it was relatively common and was not punished and it used to be legal under Roman law. Abortion was legal when USA was founded, and it remained legal until about 1900 virtually when all types of abortions were forbidden.
Until mid 1960's the abortion law changed (mainly due to illegal abortion procedures), Statistic showed at around 95% women had an abortion because of their personnel issues not medical as in the mother had plans for her life that does not require a child at present, Due to lack of resources she was not stable financially to support her child or she may be a victim of incest or rape which was not allowing her morally to conceive a child that was the result of violence.
Similarly on other hand some portions of abortions were sought due to medical reasons such as intake of oral medications, drug or alcohol that may be dangerous for the fetus or the fetus might have been affected due to exposure to high level of toxic chemicals, these usually cause a genetic damage to the cell inside the fetus, and because of these issues a law was passed in 1973 legalizing abortion (Norman E. Himes & A. ...
