Abortion Laws in Middle Schools

Introduction

When deliberating on sensitive social topics such as abortion, most of the people cling onto a rigid idea and employ it to contradict every argument presented against point of view. For example, a person in support of abortion might be reluctant to inquire about the right of a woman to her own body. On the contrary, a person against abortion might be averse to move past the assertion that abortion is a murder in simplest terms. Abortion may or may not be a murder, but the debate on such topics brings deadlocks more than the solutions to reduce the impact of the real issue (Stouffer & Taussig, 1937).

The judicial authorities also view abortion as an ill practice that permeates from the evils of incest, teen-age pregnancy and rape. Hence, it cannot be admitted in the court of law as a legal choice available to potential parents (Scott & Schuman, 1988).

Thesis statement

"A female at the age of 12 can go to her counselor and get help with getting an abortion without anyone knowing, and not till the ages of 13 are they allowed getting on birth control without parental consent."

Discussion and Analysis

Some people believe that adoption is not an option because it's the women's choice to choose. It's part of a women's civil right to have control over her body. Teenagers who become pregnant have grim futures for her and her child. There is life in an egg, and the egg is not yet a person so abortion can't be viewed as a murder. Religion is one of the most common arguments for abortion.

Some lies about abortion are that it doesn't lead to medical problems in the future. Another lie about abortion is that abortion clinics are gentle taking out the unborn child. Women were not aborting children before it was legal. Women don't bother to look at what medical conditions come with abortion. Women don't die when getting abortions (Norman, 1934).

All most every society has practiced abortion, and it was relatively common and was not punished and it used to be legal under Roman law. Abortion was legal when USA was founded, and it remained legal until about 1900 virtually when all types of abortions were forbidden.

Legality

Abortion was regarded as a serious crime until the latter part of the 20th century, and is still contested in those countries that have made the operation legal. Even where abortion is legal, it is usually only given under restricted circumstances. In the UK abortion was first made legal under the 1967 Abortion Act. This act was amended in 1990 to lower the time limit on abortions from 28 to 24 weeks in some cases. An abortion may be approved if two doctors agree that there is a risk to the woman's physical or mental health, or that the existing children would suffer, or that there is a great risk that the unborn child will be seriously ...
