Introduction

In the midst of 1920 till 1930 an extraordinary outbreak of artistic movement amongst African-Americans took place in every disciplines of art. This artistic division became acknowledged as "The New Negro Movement" and shortly as the Harlem Revitalization. It engrossed a flourishing and elegant black middle group since which pounced an astonishing creative hub. Biography

Douglas was an African-American visual artist as well as realistic artiste who played a chief character in the Harlem movement in the year 1920. Douglas initial expense, to demonstrate in the volume of Alain, The New Negro, provoked requirements for graphics from other novelists. In the year 1939, he taught at Fisk University and stayed there for the next 27 years. He was born on 26, May 1899, Topeka, Kan., and passed away on Feb. 2, 1979. After getting a degree of bachelor from the Nebraska University, he came back shortly to his local town Kansas to educate drawing and painting . He got quite a lot of commissions for publication illustrations. All the way through this art he fascinated the concentration of Charlotte Mason, who supported him for a certain period. He integrated artificial cubical shapes with stylish and arithmetic silhouettes drawn from African painting. He employed the beat of many airthmatic shapes to strengthen his pictures, which are extensively acknowledged for their tonal degrees and art deco-style shapes.
