CHAPTER 2: METHODOLOGY
Chapter 3 will provide a detailed outline of the research design of the proposed study. This chapter comprise of all the methods used for the collection of data & the philosophy behind the choice of methods. This chapter also expands on the elements of the research design, in particular, and towards the research approach of the proposed study. Moreover, this chapter outlines the criteria for inclusion and exclusion of articlesAt the end, this chapter , chapter 3 will provide a presentation of data from the selected articles i.e. the purpose of study, type of study, design, and findings of the study. Further, this chapter presents the outcomes of the literature search i.e. the total number of articles found and the selection as well as the exclusion process.
Purpose of the study
The purpose of this thesis is to generate a systemic review on the imaging studies on tinnitus. Tinnitus is a medical name for the perception of noise in ear, in the head or both ears. This noise usually comes from the inside of the body. Many individuals describe this sound as ringing sound. But some of the other sounds may include the music, whistling, humming, and buzzing. At quiet some time the tinnitus turns out to be worst. Therefore this study will provide a systemic review and find the evidence suggesting if there is any indication for abnormal brain activity in tinnitus patients.
This study will highlight the research methods used which includes library services and database. Furthermore there will be a critical appraisal describing and discussing on what is known on the question and what needs to be explored and also highlighting on how the quality of research will be assessed to justify the reliability and validity of the research.
