ABSTRACT
The study explores the main concept of “Supply Chain” in a holistic context. It is acknowledged that community activity has major impacts on the environment. Moreover, the market process is usually fragmented and involves in the several parties with different objectives. Thus, often, no one of them normally supposes direct blame for defending the environment. The concept of providing the Supply Chain management (SCM) is now commonly applied in enterprise for the mutual advantage of enterprises in the provide string of links (from the organization extracting the basic raw material to the last customer). Rudimentary standard of SCM is integration. This paper considers the potential of applying SCM to integrate the supplying process in Chatter Plane Kashmir, and thereby, address its pressing problems including its poor environmental performance. It is found that SCM can help to green the supply chain in Chatter Plane Kashmir. Some recommendations on, how awareness of SCM can be enhanced, and its application by market enterprises made most likely to succeed are offered.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background of the study
It has been since ages that at domestic level quality products are made but these products cater at a small scale for market products. These items are normally sold within the family or within the village. Consequently the producers do not get the value for their production(Government of Pakistan 1985). There is an enormous gap between the rural area cottage industry and suppliers or market. Rural community is making a variety of handicrafts and candles for their livelihood which very seldom show case in any markets or shops in the city. Seeing this opportunity a number of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) have run projects where they have encouraged local community to participate and provide them a platform in terms of training and skills to produce many items for their livelihood and economic uplift. And also they have developed number of schools and what they call 'Industrial Houses' to produce these items at a scale.
