Introduction

The dominant mix of decolonization, Marxism-Leninism, and anti-imperialist indigenous nationalism were the aspects that first came into existence immediately after World War I, in the regions of European colonial control. At the treaty of Versailles that formally ended World War I, and established the League of Nations, Woodrow Wilson, American President highlighted the importance of a new world order that would be based on national self determination and collective security. The motive behind the talks was also to inspire anti-colonial nationalists groups across Middle East and Asia.

Militarism as a term shows evidence of coming into existence only towards the end of the 19th century, which acts as an explanation to the social and economic climate of that era.  The militarism that emerged out of a misplaced concept of nationalism saw an emergence in the nineteenth century especially in Europe as the powers France, Germany, Russia and Britain fought for supremacy. As a result, Historians and scholarly writers of that century show leanings towards militaristic nationalism and propagated it.
