Introduction

This story is told by a son who was one year old in Belmont when murderous series took place. The boy is Sebastian Junger. His mother hired a construction crew for their studio who late confessed to be a serial killer. This novel is a review of Bessie's Goldberg's assassination in 1963. Roy Smith was convicted for her death. He was working in the house of Bessie on the day she died. He was easily noticed because he was a black man. Later, Albert DeSalvo confessed to be the Boston Strangler (as he was called), meaning the town's murderer. The book misses the hard evidence against the murderer to present the reader with a mystery. The author never reveals the fact that the conviction of Roy Smith was upheld by Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (Junger, 2006).

The Author

Sebastian Junger is an American journalist and writer born in 1962 in Massachusetts, including author of the bestseller The Perfect Storm (The Perfect Storm) inspired by a violent storm that struck New England in 1991 and "War" (Being a soldier in Afghanistan) published in France by Editions de Fallois in February 2011. The latter story, strikingly realistic, is the result of stays by Sebastian Junger in a combat unit of the U.S. Army. In 1984, he graduated in cultural anthropology at Wesleyan University. Freelance journalist, his articles have appeared in magazines Outside, Men's Journal, American Heritage, and The New York Times Magazine. Junger also covered the war in Bosnia for radio and followed the smoke jumpers (smoke jumpers) for fires in Idaho. Sebastian Junger has also worked as a lumberjack, and was injured during this activity. In October 1991, he witnessed the " Halloween Storm 1991 "in Gloucester, which led him to meet with family members of missing fishing boat Andrea Gail and writing his first book, The Perfect Storm. It was later made into a film by Wolfgang Petersen in 2000 (Junger, 2006).

The Story

The story comprises five stories in total. The author successfully creates a transition among them. The first story shows a relationship of Albert DeSalvo and Ellen Junger. It occurred during building the home addition. Second story comprises Goldbeg murder followed by arrest and trial of Smith. Third is the biography of Roy Smith where the author travels to Mississipi to interview his relatives. The fourth story is about a Boston Strangler and investigation. As most of the murders occurred when Smith was in jail, therefore, he was a suspect for a very few days. The last story of the book is the biography of Albert DeSalvo (Buddo, 2010).
