Thesis Statement

When children are exposed to violent behaviors in video games, it affects the psychological conditions of a child in a negative manner.

Introduction

Violence has an impact on the mental health conditions of all ages of people. However, violence disproportionately affects the minds of the young where a young person can become an offender, a victim or a witness to destructive violence. This is contributed through the playing of video games which involve a lot of violence and destruction. When a child is exposed to violent behaviors and actions, he ultimately learns them and make them a part of his normal routine life and then when faced with a similar situation, he reacts in the same manner as he did while playing the video game (Anonymous, 2005). The playing of violent video games causes antisocial behaviors and delinquencies. The following paper considers and identifies the causes of playing video games, and how it is one of the main reasons leading to youth violence, however arguments still remain.

Discussion

This is often noticed that children are so much enthusiastic about video games and winning on them that they cross all their boundaries even they ask Santa Claus for blowing away their enemies on a certain game. An important thing to consider here is that should it worry the parents or not? Violent video games have become a traditional part of the present culture. A decade ago, an issue was raised about whether shootings and fighting in a game can contribute to youth violence (Anonymous, 2010). The research however, was not given much importance as it was noticed that real-life aggression is not linked to the video games in any way.
