Introduction

The corner stone of any nation is its diligent, skilled and responsible youth. If directed and propelled in the right direction, the power and strength endorsed by the youth can take the destiny of their land to new, unmatchable heights. However, deplorably the modern era has been adequately malicious in compelling the youth to take a detour to the non conforming standards of responsible living, by getting indulged in violence, alcohol and other pertinent activities. Henceforth, it is highly imperative that the community takes the responsibility of bringing the youth of the nation back to the right track, and inculcate in them the vigor of being of substantial assistance to the community, and reflect their ownership of the given responsibility.

Before, commencing the debate on how youth can be indulged in rendering assistance to the community, it is essential to comprehend that who wins the place in this category. As the term itself reflects, youth denotes a young individual in his/ her early maturity, enduring immense freshness and vitality characteristics.

Community Work

The prime connotations and beliefs that are associated with the term community work, defines this activity as a set of actions executed by a person or a group of people for the eventual and sheer benefit and well being for the people of the community. The core facet of community work lies in the fact that it is owned and endorsed by volunteers, who deliberately wish to serve the community and its inhabitants (Yates, 2009, pp. 77).

Youth Work

Inters tingly, a major chunk of individuals often confuse the specifications and prime aspects of community work and youth work. The superficial context of both the affairs is the somehow same; however, with different connotations attributed to them. If a close assimilation is rendered by the naïve, yet cognitive mind, over this term, then it will be dawned upon it that Youth work is primarily aimed and targeted at the adolescents and older children, comprising of the community support activities. Interestingly, the characteristics and features of youth work vary from place to place and region to region, based on the aspects of the respective community and its basic culture (Jones, 2011, pp. 530).

Brief History

What the modern specifications of the youth work require is the indulgence of the youth in running and managing own service, via a well defined and formulated practice of youth led youth work. However, earlier, the initiation of this affair commenced with the numerous varying, yet pertinent motives. Initially, most f the youth worker would belong to the middle class of the community and work with other worthy young individuals, to render a practical expression and manifestation to their endorsed Christian faith.
