Practicality and workability of Administration and politics dichotomy

Politics administration dichotomy is an idea which rejects all kinds of political influences on the administrative decision of the state. In my opinion, this idea is practical and workable in the political and administrative system of democracy which gives enough room for the opposition to play its role. Opposition party or parties of any modern democratic state need to be vigilant to point out all the decisions which state has taken in the past or about to take in the future to further the interests of ruling party or its allies. Role of opposition if played in its true spirit can make it workable and this idea bears the fruit for common people as if state anticipates the strong opposition which a politically influenced administrative decision can provoke and harm the party reputation, state will be careful and could be deterred not to go for it. Strong political opposition to a good extent mitigate or eliminate the political influences on administrative decisions by state, and state will be compelled to make every decision to further the interest of its citizens, not its own.

In relatively new democracies like Niger in Africa, usually its elite class that rules the country and exert its influence on administrative decisions. Most of the time, the interest of elite are not aligned with the interest of common people. In this situation, strong institution of opposition can really be helpful and work towards furthering the interests of people by minimizing or even eliminating the political influence of state on administrative decisions.
