There is the impact of different work schedules on work-life conflict among nurses.

Discussion

In this paper, we shall point out both directions of work-life conflict. For instance, work can affect family life of nurses because of different work shifts and late night shifts due to which they are not able complete household chores, or attend a family function. On the other side family can also distract the work of nurse if she is busy in solving some materialist problem or helping his child It is argued by different researchers that, due to this work- life conflict many people might get discouraged to go foe this profession and make the current situation even worst as there is already shortage of nurses (Boyar, 2003).

It is generally accepted that adverse working time arrangements (WTAs), including shift work, night shifts, inflexible work schedules, unpredictable hours, and long or unsocial hours, constitute major work related psychosocial hazards. Night or evening work and rotating (especially backward-rotating) shifts are associated with work home interference, especially among nurses. Long working hours, especially in the absence of work-time control, were found to interfere with home activities. Conversely, “predictability over working time” seems to favor work-life harmonization.
