Introduction

In the antediluvian era, women were sometimes sanctifying in early American culture. This however, moved, they were no longer notion of being consider in a dominant position, and fairly the opposite, for a long time was consider to be lesser in status.

During the eighteenth century, women's lives revolved around looking after the house, a role which in many cases involved partnership in running cattle farm or home businesses. The disobedience of English rule and the start of the war disturbed the typical patterns of life in many ways as well as impacting how women reacted to actions surrounding them. The main role of the women considered being managing all phases of their domestic work. In the early days leading up to Lexington and Concord, they made food for armed forces and made cartridges as well. Some women were able to keep on managing household, cattle ranch and shops but others were not capable to live on their own and forced to abandon their homes and go after their husbands with the army.

The 19th century was an era of modification and progression in the status of women. Generally, a white woman had no rights in governmental affairs. She was powerless to take part in an election, or express any political outlooks. She also had a very restricted profession selection, as women were debar from various professions. The main reason for this barring could have been an insufficient educational qualification, since women were not often very knowledgeable. Before the civil war, there were just 3 educational institutions that women could attend. This did get better; subsequent to the civil war, almost 40% of college students were women.

Once a woman got marry, the whole thing she possessed became her husband's; her property, her life savings, any slaves that she owned and her name. If there was a case of disloyalty, the woman lost most, if not all, esteem in the society. The man though, lost very little esteem, if any. In the 19th century, postion of woman, was normally in the abode; serving others along with looking after her family. Woman's expected tendency is to clean, and make life contented for her family, she cannot have the benefit of her own life if there is cleaning to do or work to be completed.

In spite of progression in industry, United States in the 19th century was principally rural. 7 out of 10 citizens in the America lived in rural areas with an average populace of below 2500. Even though a large amount of the research conducted on women status during this era.
