ABSTRACT

In the modern world, women have to struggle against biased stigmas just because of their gender. However, the start of the feminist movement in the beginning of the 20the century activated the continuing and lasting expansion of rights of women. The start of 20th century brought various opportunities and dramatic changes for women in United States. The events that were leading up to state hood were came to an official completion, at minimum the work of polygamy, and the constitution of sate restored rights of women to vote as well as to ensure other equality rights. By the year 1900, for about 25 percent of all women contributed in the labor force. This proportion gradually rose over the subsequent decade, and by the year 1910, almost 7.5 million females worked outside their house. These numbers remained quite suitable in the anticipation of the inception of World War II. The inception of World War II embarked a quick increase in labor contribution among females. In addition to the women-oriented jobs, females were hired for union jobs and skilled jobs, job posts which were previously not available to women. Women were increasingly seen in non-traditional professions like computer specialists, science and engineering technicians, operatives of transport equipments, financial officials and bank managers, and several women had chose to enter the field of military. These professions provided women chances to break out the conventional professional paths. A very smaller percentage of females had made it to the high levels of officials in US organizations. Women had been promoted and made 12.5% of organization workers, and 4.1% of highly paid officers. For about 6.2% of high-level managers were women (executive vice president, senior executive vice president, chief operating officer, president, CEO, vice chairman and chairman).

In history, at several times, working-women were considered as unfeminine and immoral objects of shame. Few critics blamed working-women as being careless mothers. Often, society, colleagues or bosses did not consider women employees in a serious manner. This caused various challenges for working women, because of their family responsibilities. It was expected by women to carry out duties as mother and wife, moreover to fulfill their professional accountabilities. Several women went through feelings of selfishness and guilt when they put their interest of career at thigh priority.
