It's not easy competing with the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots when it comes to being a new professional sports team in Boston. But last year, the Boston Breakers, part of the new Womens Professional Soccer league, held their own. Sure, they didn't outsell the Sox and some of their home games competed with Celtics playoff games, but they still managed to draw an average attendance of roughly 5,000.
