Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make a reflective paper on the western civilization and describe that why does that history matters to me. Western civilization is also called the European civilization. It is the civilization of people living in North America, Europe and Australia. This topic is important for me because I am doing graduation in History, so it is a very important topic which can help me in understanding the origination of the western civilization.

Discussion

Understanding the history of Western Civilization has been of great importance for me. There are different opinions relative to the birth of European Civilization. According to the concept of Euro Centrism, the European Civilization was founded in the ancient Greek times. The other concepts include that the Western Civilization had emerged in almost XV-XVI century, when the great geographical discoveries of Europeans, in Northern Italy and the Netherlands sprang capitalism and the reformation broke the religious foundations of society.

European civilization has gone through many stages of development, with values, morals and aspirations of the people, institutions, society and economy at different times, and in different countries. Many features of European civilization over time have been borrowed by other nations, particularly the Japanese in scientific and technological progress and economic development. In this case, significant differences in mentality between East and West "remain to this day. Other eastern Asians in the late XX - early XXI century is also actively developing their economy, especially industry.

Perhaps one of the characteristics of the civilized Western man, when we address the issue of civilization just as behavior and not as a specific feature of a culture, is withholding it's imposes visible in the privacy of others.
