Johnny Cash is, along with Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis Priestley, one of the largest and most important rock 'n roll musicians of the fifties and sixties. The historical setting of the film is very nicely potryaed it takes the viewer back to the sixties. A movie about his life difficult, and, above all, his love affair with the controversial singer June Carter, is a welcome surprise and fills a void almost cinematic.
