Learning and Development

Human resources at Wal-Mart should make sure that their employees are continuously trained and improved. Improved skill level helps in growth at a faster pace, both for the employees and the organization. It is known phenomenon that when employees are empowered and are allowed to grow, their productivity level increases and they contribute whole-heartedly to their organization with grown accountability and responsibility (Cushard, 2012). This involves the three step process, easy to follow and grow.

Employees must be motivated to work at their best at their current positions. This feedback helps Wal-Mart in identifying what are the needs of its human capital and what do they desire.

Continuously learn new skills

It is observed on a general level at Wal-Mart that employees are trained regularly. However there are instances when training departments often receive proposals of trainings that are not related to the job itself. With such a proposal, the organization often faces a dilemma of conducting the training program as the trainings are supposed to be an expense for the organization and later the impact of the training is not easily measured(Cushard, 2012). For this reason, Wal-Mart has to come up with an online portal that offers online tutorials and trainings to the employees. The portal is updated on a regular basis, and whenever the employee feels like learning new skills, he can log in and learn online.
