Use & Abuse of Animals.

Introduction

Circus is the medium of attraction used for fun, laugh and applaud, but the main concern here is the critical reflections on the real entertainment that they cause. It is all because of these animals that we get entertained in circus and refresh our mind by their acts and hence it is through the combined effort of circus managers and animals which are used.

The main issue here is that those animals are being abused. The care and concern the animals are received should be according to the standards, so that any type of problems can be avoided. The trainers must not only be concerned to finance themselves but they should take care of the standards which are being used and proper ways and methods should be used in this regard. Animals are served improperly as their diet measures are not properly taken care of.

Use of animals

The alleged abuse of animals at circus isn't surprising but the use of these animals is very cruel, and children learn that animal cruelty is fun and acceptable. Circuses abuse the use of animals in the sense that there are no proper monitoring training sessions for animals. They are beaten with bull hooks and they are shocked with electric prods, big cats are dragged by heavy chains. . Similarly, bears are whacked with long poles. Chimpanzees are also hit with riding crops and kicked. There is no such positive reinforcement for animals and they are beaten up and they only receive punishment and deprivation. The trainers make them do physically uncomfortable tricks which are not appropriate for them. They are tortured uncomfortably (Felthous, 159).

Animals spend most of their time restrained in tiny cages and elephants, which travel 25km a day in the wild, spend almost all the time chained by a front and a hind leg, standing on a wooden or metal board in a tent. Robbed of their natural behavior (foraging, bathing, roaming and socializing), they suffer extreme stress leading to abnormal behavior. Training method used for their training is secretive and cruel: whips are seen in the ring and the use of screws hidden in the base of walking sticks, spikes concealed in tasseled sticks and hotshots or electric shock devices have also been documented. Due to this reason it is suggested that, animal circuses should be banned (Felthous, 159).

By comparing the different issues in manufacturing of food clothing and dissection of live animals for scientific purposes, there is a relatively small number of animals have been exploited for fun and entertainment. There are many animals around the world that are still suffering, and usually die, for the joy and entertainment, and some of these animals such as, bulls are paid to death in bullfights. There also appears innocent such as zoos that participate significantly in the exploitation and misuse of animals.
