Introduction

The attacks of September 11, 2001 known as the 9/11 attack, were a series of suicide bombings committed in the United States that day by members of the network jihadist Al Qaeda. They did this through the kidnapping of airliners that hit several targets and killed about 3000 people and injured around 6000 people. This attack was aimed at the destruction of the environment of World Trade Centre in New York and a serious damage to the Pentagon in the State of Virginia. The attacks were immediately condemned as horrendous terrorist attacks, by the Security Council United Nation.

It is characterized by the use of commercial aircraft as weapons, provoking a backlash of widespread fear around the world and particularly in countries Western, which altered policies since international aviation security. 27 members of Al-Qaeda attempted to enter the United States to take part in the attack. Finally, only 19 participated. The aftermaths of 9/ 11 made the United States of America changes its goal. Its new goal was war against terrorism with the episode that led to Afghanistan and America war which brought a change in the global environment. The Americans goal as an aftermath of 9/11 was war on terrorism as the attacks were committed by nineteen members of the jihadist Al-Qaida network, divided into four groups of hijackers. Each with a terrorist pilot that would be responsible for piloting the plane once already reduced the crew cabin. The aircraft flight 11, American Airlines and United Airlines 175, was the first to be kidnapped to be both crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre, the first against the north tower, the second against South shortly after, causing both skyscrapers collapsed within two hours.

The third hijacked plane belonged to American Airlines Flight 77 and was used to being hit against one of the facades of the Pentagon in Virginia. The fourth plane, belonging to United Airlines Flight 93, that did not reach any target to be crashed into an open field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after losing control in the cabin as a result of the confrontation between the passengers and crew with the terrorist. Most economic analysts believe that the attacks of Sept. 11 were at the origin of a significant economic slowdown (or amplification of heavy braking, which was initiated by the bursting of the, bubble in 2000). The attacks had a significant economic impact on U.S and global markets. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) and NASDAQ did not open the morning of September 11, 2001 and remained closed until 17 September. Officially, the responsibility for these attacks lies with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and hence the goal of US government is to eradicate this terrorist organization from its roots whose leader is Osama bin laden. September 11, 2001, marked a turning point in American foreign and domestic policy. Within a month, new goals were being set by the government. A month after the terrorist attacks, Congress passed the USA patriot Act without fully debating its deep impact on civil liberties, particularly on those of ethnic and religious minorities.
