Uriah Smith, an artist, author and editor was born in 1832 in West Wilton, New Hampshire. His famous works are associated with the book Daniel and the revelation.
Smith followed the footsteps of his elder sister Annie who was an Adventist. He was appointed to the gospel ministry in 1874. With the founding of Battle Creek College in 1874, Smith became the Bible teacher, a position he held for the next eight years, and the last two of which he was also chairman of the board.
