Book Review

True Grit is a novel which is narrated from a woman's perspective. The name of the woman is Mattie Ross who narrates the old time when she was at the age of 14. The book highlights the ways through which she pursued vengeance for her father's murder with the name of Tom Chaney. However, many of the critics state the novel as one of the greatest novel's in the American literature.

The book True Grit is a transformation of genre for an individual like me. However, here, I am of the opinion that choosing a book is my face to face book for this month. The overall opinion regarding the book was that it was a splendid book. However, others were of the opinion that the book was rather disappointing, and it was not up to the mark and quotes on the back. On the other hand, the introduction given in the book by author by Donna Tartt, initially explained the love and affection she and family has for the book (Drewry, pp: 12).

In my early childhood, I adored watching Westerns movies. However, this act was merely restricted in the days of my early childhood. I do not remember that I was reading such nature of books; however, I do not think I have read any such books since I was in my early childhood days. My personal library had more of cowboy books and later the pixie and fairy tales books. I loved to watch John Wayne movie True Grit based on the novel (Teitelbaum, pp: 23).
