Understanding Comparison in Criminal Justice Research: An Interpretive Perspective
This article could be termed as a form of a methodological debate made by the author, for the research regarding the occurring taking place in the surroundings. In this article the author has made a comparison in the social phenomenon that are present inside the current society, one in which we are living in, with the ancient societies, the societies of the histories, their languages, the system of politics and the systems of legality, along with the cultural values that were being followed by the people of the society at that time. The author has explained the term positivity in accordance with the philosophy regarding the social sciences, which encompasses a wide range of positions, but along with that it has just one common aim which is the identifications of the rules, and the laws of the social scientific system, by conducting a set of different experiments. Experiments are based on the measuring of many variables present inside the sphere of the social science and are done in accordance with the natural science. The author has explained the term of positive philosophies, as a set of fixed laws and the constraints that are used in shaping the behavior of the human beings living inside groups of societies.
On the other hand the author has explained the interpretative philosophies, in which the author has argues on the topic of social science, which according to the author is the consciousness and the meanings that are generated due to the free will of the human beings living inside a society.
