The study is related to sociological aspects of crime and delinquency which indicates that the crimes are actions or events which are not allowed by the criminal law of a country. For that reason, the study of crime and delinquency raises concerns related to the sociology which is important and crucial to tackle as, if these are not taken into the consideration then there are probable chances that the people in the society get involved in different criminal activities.

The subject of criminology is an unusual discipline, which particular focuses on the deals with the concerns that are related to the society. For that reason, criminology put emphasis on the social problems which has impacted the society so that the stability in the society can be maintained.

It seems that the criminology has been a failure as it asks the wrong questions; however, it is important to know that criminology focuses on the societal factors which are most imperative and essential elements to consider rather than the individual factors. Thus, this distinction makes criminology different from other disciplines, which can be considered as the basis of the criminology.

Moreover, criminologist unlike the normal scientist cannot define their own terms. The basis of this statement is that criminology is an unusual discipline as it is the scientific study of the nature, control, causes and extent of criminal actions in both society and the individuals.

There are various areas in social sciences from which crime can be defined; however, the precise knowledge of crime can be obtained from political/ legal institutions that entail law; therefore, criminal behaviors can be defined by criminal law.

Criminology is an inter-disciplinary field in the behavioral sciences which is particularly based on the studies of sociologists; therefore crime is relative, but criminologists do not realize its importance in related field.

Criminology says it is objective as it is based on legal and social definitions of crime, but there are certain limits which prevent the success of criminology that helps in attaining the predefined goals.
