Effects of Politics on Trade Unions/Collective Bargaining
“Trade unions are associations of workers established to improve their economic and social conditions” (Kenyon & Lewis, 1996: 206). This delineation, while very basic, is in essence main function of the trade union. When looking at history of trade unions, “it can be seen to have originated from economic struggles between workers and employers in nineteenth century.” (Kenyon & Lewis, 1996: pg. 220).
