Mindless violence leads to unpredictable situations.

A Good Man is Hard to Find

To support this argument, we will first look at Flannery o' Connor's story: A righteous man is hard to find. In this story, the author has focused on the point that people are responsible for their actions and deeds and whatever they do, they will learn something out of the experience. In this regard, she has explained how a grandmother tries to impose her orders on the entire family. She did not criticize herself as she used to criticize everyone in the home, the mere reason why the children of her son Bailey never respected her. She always felt proud herself, depicting her personality as of a lady and labeling this as the most important virtue which she performs, alone (O'Connor, 2010).

She never looks at her own dishonesty, selfishness and hypocrisy. Her claim that her conscience is the guiding force in her life was proved wrong because she lied to the children, hid her cat in the car and decides not to reveal to the family that she lied to them about the location of the house. When the murder started killing her family, she did not beg to stop, even for once. However, she just plead the murder to spare her and not to kill her, as in her perception she was a lady and the Misfit (the murderer), cannot kill her. Moreover, she also presumed that the murderer will identify that she is a lady and will not kill her, respecting the moral code she holds, as if he will prefer it over his crime.
