Abstract This is a theoretical-philosophical reflection on the importance of the inclusion of therapeutic care in the construction of nursing knowledge, as an epistemological object and focus of the discipline. To this end, we discuss the construction of this knowledge, from the perspective of care, from the historical context of nursing and therapeutic care integration in clinical practice and on the other side as the business or professional work, under the vision work process of nursing. When addressing the construction of knowledge, based therapeutic care, we believe it is possible to promote action with people in a holistic manner, singular, plural and balanced so that alone will encourage the consolidation of the discipline and professional visibility.

Introduction

The trajectory in the development of nursing science with a view to the formation of a scientific discipline is scheduled in the creation of theories that have focused on nurses in clinical practice , reality and consolidated in the U.S. and emerging nursing Brazil. We believe that nursing is configured as a professional discipline, so that its development has taken place from the practical activity in the care of humans. This condition is displayed when workers perceive nurses and care professionals. Note that the term care is not understood as an activity that nursing, but as a specific make of it, in terms of diagnosis and planning. To advance in this reality and make a qualitative leap in the construction of nursing knowledge, we highlight the therapeutic care as a strategy available to meet people through a humane and ethical care. Nursing activities, led by a reference or epistemological basis, based on the concept of therapeutic care, could be focused there, so care is essential for survival, under which the person may need it at any time in their lives. By attributing the construction of knowledge, it is necessary to clarify that we consider this thoughtful study of the discipline or focus epistemological object as the first structure of this knowledge, which refers to an expression that delimits an area or object of study, intended to answer the social commitment of nursing. The focus of the discipline is in a domain, a unique and proprietary nature of nursing differs from the other disciplines. In this way, we contribute to the construction of nursing knowledge, in the context of therapeutic care, seeking to highlight it as a strategy to reduce the gap between the technical and nursing theory, taking into account the distance that the model biomedical causes between the professional and person, which has prevailed since the academic. Therefore, our goal is to promote theoretical and philosophical reflection concerning the importance of the inclusion of therapeutic care in the construction of nursing knowledge, the focus of the discipline, with a view to strengthening training.
