Theory for IT in Business

Introduction

In formation Technology has proved to be a vital resource to develop any business as today's rapidly changing technologies not only have given a significant strength to businesses but also made life easier for individuals or consumers. There is no doubt about the fact that businesses in the modern era operate in a systematic manner with the extensive aid of information technology. For example it can be seen organisations are structured into different departments or business unites where every unit manages its operations and activities in a systematic flow. No doubt, business organisations today have undergone profound changes by acquiring various technologies and information systems such as Just-in-Time, Total Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management, etc. (Manzoor, 2012).

However, it would be fair to say that implementation of IT in small and medium businesses help them to reduce their cost, increase productivity and gain competitive advantage in the market.

Business Law Services Limited (BLSL), in this regard, is a small law firm that manages its business operations as well as transactions through paper-based or limited PCs. However, the most positive thing to know is that the BLSL has recognised the importance of Information Technology and is willing to transform its existing administration into a computerised one. In fact, BLSL believes that this transformation will bring multiple business benefits to the company in terms of cost reduction, efficiency in performance, active customer management and significant reduction in time required to process client request or case.

It can be seen in the given case that BLSL wants to remove its paper-based administration and employ latest information technologies in their business.

This suggests that, I order to become IT-based law company, BLSL needs to incorporate necessary computer hardware or devices, ...
