Leadership in nursing is alive and evident in all nurses who practice in worldwide. The effective leadership in nursing and the health sector is a necessity which has never been more critical for client care, promoting health, policy development and reforms of health care. Development constant nurse leaders and potential leaders at the stage of our history is an imperative. (Booth, 2005, 335)

The health sector reform requires the nurse to produce and play a positive role for changing the current forms of intervention in the health sector and its direct contribution to the health of the population. Nurses to be change agents must understand the social nature of the institutions to which they belong and the nature and speed of social change that contributes significantly to modify the organizational socialization process. (Adams, 2007, 309)

Leadership

Leadership is a matter of group decision making process to influence an individual or group of individuals in efforts to achieve the objectives in a given situation.

Theories of Leadership

There are broad categories of leadership theories that have emerged from recent efforts to stop research and organize the material available, and they are: 1) theories of personality traits, 2) personal and behavioral theories, and 3) situational theories (Carroll, 2006, 56)
