ABSTRACT

In this study we try to explore the concept of sustainability and motivation through a more in-depth, instilled approach and aim to analyze how does the relationship between them works in the favor of these two independent variables. These days, motivation is extremely important when it comes to individuals understanding and comprehending the kind of issues and concerns that are associated with sustainability. With the hospitality industry, which has been undertaken as part of this research study, the main focus of the research is on what are the basic reasons, which lead to the long-term performance of hotels around the globe. Authors and researches continue to make way for highlighting and identifying the key reasons and factors which contribute towards the development and understanding of the kind of problems and issues that are associated with motivation and sustainability in the hospitality industry.

CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION

Introduction

Over the decades, sustainability has been a controversial and popular topic; people from all walks of life start being aware of their surroundings. Since sustainability doesn't just affect us for our current environment but also for our next generations (Carroll, 2006, pp. 39). The overused of limited natural resources would lead to a massive problem for the future (Carroll & Nasi, 2007, pp. 46).

Especially, under the condition of abnormal climate changes which start affecting us for at least the last two decades, specialists and government invest a lot of capital and did a lot of researches on implementing new technology or methods to reduce the environmental stress and seek for substitutions in order to lengthen the usage of some certain existences of natural resources (Carroll & Bucholtz, 2006, pp.48).
