ABSTRACT
Motivation/problem statement
In this study the researcher tries to explore the role of production manager in manufacturing industry. This topic is very important because not much research has been conducted on the role of production manager in the manufacture industry. The role of production manager is important because the end product is dependent on his capabilities.
Method and Approach
The researcher used mixed method to analyse the role and identity of the production manager. The following are the research questions addressed in this research.
What is the relationship between production manager identity and work?
What are the problems faced by production manager in different roles?
How do high-performance production manager experience the relationship between their personal identity and their work?
The researcher used the instrument of questionnaire and interview for this research to study the topic in depth. The researcher took interview of 5 respondents and got the questionnaire filled from 50 respondents.
Results/findings/product
The researcher found out that role of production manager is very important because the end result or product depends on the production manager. The researcher found that the production manager shapes the procedures and hence is very important. The manufacturing production manager works day and night along with the workers and has to do his work as well as guide the coworkers. The researcher found that production manager is very tough.
Conclusion/implications
This research filled in the gaps in the literature and came to conclusion that the role of production manager is important in manufacturing industry. This research laid the foundation for future research in the context of role of production manager in manufacturing industry.
