ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to identify the response of police towards domestic violence. Domestic violence is defined as a kind of offense that is committed by intimate partners or any family members. The most common victims of domestic violence are women and children. Undoubtedly, domestic violence has a long history, but unfortunately it is still present in our society. There are also some cases of domestic violence in which victims are men or transgender. In order to assess the response of police towards domestic violence, the research has adopted secondary analysis. The study has identified different measures that have been taken in the United Kingdom to prevent domestic violence. In addition, the study has also highlighted measures that the police should take in cases of domestic violence.
