The Prevention of the Spread of Infection in a Mental Health Hospital
INTRODUCTION
This paper aims to critically analyse the study that aims to be conducted concerning the Spread of Infection in a Mental Health Hospital. An e search was carried out from the relevant data base. Meta analysis is beneficial as it offers a rational and it is a useful way to deal with numerous practical issues. My interest in this topic led me to examine the available literature on the subject matter of preventing the spread of infections. I have therefore decided to critically review this topic to help me learn more about different reasons due to which the infection spreads in mental health settings.
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this proposal is to explore how the spread of infection occurs and how the health care associated infections are prevented and reduced in the primary care unit. The basic consideration will be given to the mental health hospital. In this proposal the reviewer also aims to look and read different primary research articles that have enough evidence to support and answer the question.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of this study is to
To reduce the risk of the contamination by bacteria during daily practice in the mental health care settings.
It should be ensured that there is a managed and controlled environment that minimises and prevents the risk of infections to the visitors, staff, clients and patients.
The integral part of the infection control and hygiene in the mental health care is the management of health care waste.
The author of this research aims to provide the rationale for the precautionary measures that may help prevent the cross infections between the hospital staff, the visitors and patients to the environment.
The objectives include being able to find a question that is answerable and to find enough evidence to support the topic and to find ways of preventing infectious diseases in the mental hospital effectively.
Study background
In the background the reviewer will identify and give the justification on why the topic was chosen including the research questions that will be relevant to the clinical practice and if there are any current gaps being observed in the research. The Prevention of the Spread of Infection is regarded as a dynamic concern worldwide (Barker, Vipond & Bloomfield 2004, pp. 42). Individuals, regardless of their initial admission status, could become at risk during their contact with the bacteria in the health care system, for example because of a general decline in proper hygienic conditions or not using the masks, gloves and protective clothing during an undergoing surgery. Infections are generally present in the environment, and are known as the route by which the germs mainly enter into a susceptible site in the body, it multiplies hence resulting in a particular disease (Joseph, 2006, ...
