Abstract
In this study we try to explore the concept of Dutch Colonial Heritage in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on the preservation of Dutch Colonial Heritage in Bandung, Indonesia. The research also analyzes the role played by the national government, Bandung heritage society and international heritage organizations in the implementation of the heritage law. This Study tries to gauge the role of The Netherlands in this subject, and what influence do they have on the preservation of shared heritage. The study followed the secondary research methodology. This research compared whether the shared heritage threatened differently from Indonesian heritage.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Outline of the Study
The first chapter provides an introduction to the topic including the purpose and significance of the study. The second chapter presents a review of relevant literature, highlighting the previous research carried out in this field. The third chapter covers the methodology for this study. The analysis of findings and discussion will be presented in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter will conclude the study, providing implications and useful recommendations for further research.
Background of the study
Colonial architecture, as a term or statement, cannot be explained in any simple cut and dried definition. It might refer to architecture from the past, realized in former Western colonies, which have been independent for decades or it might be simply an architectural feature as some project developers suggest when they advertise colonial style houses. Then, there are researchers, who have come to the conclusion that sometimes, in a post-independence period, architects in the new nations still produced 'colonial-like' architecture. In short the perception of the term colonial architecture could be many and varied.
Rationale of the study
