Gogol is a stubborn character and is the protagonist in the story. He appears flexible in only one situation, and it is when he gets into a relationship with a woman, leaning on whatever she said. Regardless of being the protagonist, he does not appear to be a likeable character throughout the story. He recoils from his family because it had strong ties with the culture of India.
