The movement of liquid bulk cargo from the gulf countries to the world
Introduction
Indeed having natural resources reservoirs in abundance in one's country is a nature's blessing that should be cherished. Though only having these reservoirs is not enough. It is equally important to provide proper and reliable transportation system to share this nature's blessing with the world. Globalization is now a key term defined in every country's economic register. Globalization is defined as the sharing of knowledge, goods and natural reservoirs among the countries of the world. It is now the need of the present world that every part of the world maintains a proper communication and transportation system with the other part of the world. Many have witnessed rapid economic growth of their country by maintaining proper transportation channels with other countries, for transporting their cargoes. No one can maintain a sound economic growth without actively participating in the economic activities of the world.
Global goods movement is essential in the global freight transportation system that includes ocean and, railways, roads inland waterways, coastal routes, and air freight (Winebrake & Corbett, 2008).
Transportation and Economic Growth of a Country
If a country has the aim of expanding its market all across the world in order to gain best possible income for its land, the transportation system plays an important role. Transportation system serves as the main vein for any country. Whether it is the transportation of goods within the country or outside, the system needs to be efficient, reliable and secure. It is necessary for the goods to be transported to the consumer stations from the producing stations in order to carry out the consumption. On the macroeconomic level transportation is important for the whole economy income. In many developed countries, transportation accounts between 6% and 12% of the GDP. Transportation is equally important on microeconomic level of the country as it links producer and consumer (Rodrigue, 2013).
