ABSTRACT

In this research study, the researcher tries to explore the Influence of Charles Saatchi on the YBA's. The qualitative research method was used in the qualitative research method secondary data was utilized. The findings have proved that the Saatchi has great influence eon the success of YBA. Apart from YBA, Saatchi has great influence on raising the worth of the art pieces placed in the Saatchi gallery.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Background of the Research

The Tate Modern museum is undoubtedly the most important modern art and well known in London (Stiles Selz 2006 75). On the other hand the Saatchi Gallery is a small museum that although not as famous but deserves much worth for those who are interested in contemporary art. It was founded in 1985 by Charles Saatchi, a tycoon in the world of advertising for showcasing his private collection. It is possibly the best place in the world that discovers the future talent of British contemporary art (Stallabrass 2004 40). The philosophy of the Saatchi Gallery and its founder is betting on young artists, giving them the opportunity to show their work and catapult new talent. Damien Hurst, arguably one of the artists live with a better-paid work at present, is one of those who got benefit from the patronage of Saatchi in the nineties.

It has also become a very influential gallery in the global art scene and is responsible for the Young British Artists movement. This term comes from a series of special exhibitions with this name that were organized at the Saatchi Gallery in 1992 and launched the careers of a group of artists, mostly graduates of Goldsmiths College of Arts. The surroundings of the gallery could not be more pleasant to walk well. It is located in the heart of fashionable Chelsea, near Sloane Square, former headquarters of the Duke of York. As it is not very large, that's why it is very easy to combine the visit with shopping in the Kings Road or a stroll through the gardens of the Royal Hospital Chelsea (Honnef Beyer 2008 99). The interior is beautiful, with brick walls, vaulted ceilings and paintings and sculptures. In less cold months it is best to sit on its beautiful terrace.
