The union movement is part of the labor movement that contains among its direct targets representation policy and labor. However, the separation between the two types of activities is quite widespread throughout the course of history and collective organization of workers in the direction of the defense of their interests and better working conditions, against employers and the business organizations and governments. Unions and employee unions are common words to describe the organizations of workers to collectively represent the interests of the working class (Gilbert, 1988).
In this paper we are going to discuss about the history of labor unions and how it came into existence.
Discussion
The history of the labor movement and labor history began with the industrial revolution. It was the time when slavery began to be abolished by law and wage of the labor had flourished. A precedent is often put as the French Revolution, which led to the collapse of the feudal system and the first recognition of certain rights of the working class had occurred.
For over a century, the collective actions of workers (Labor unions, strikes, collective bargaining) were widely considered a crime. It is in Europe, and especially in England, that the first labor movement containing the playfulness, also known as ground-breaking machine (1810-1811) took place, and later it became known as facing the machine age.
The birth of Labor unions
In the year 1830 appeared the first labor organizations which grouped the workers according to their respective occupations. England took the name of Labor-unions (literally 'Labors unions') or simply unions.
