The Government should not ban Food

No one wants their family or even their mother to tell them what should they eat or not, so how could anyone be happy that government controls our eating habit. Controversies have emerged in our society about the government banning some foods item, especially those with excessive fats contents. The Board of Supervisor affirmed that McDonald Happy Meal should have less than six hundred calories, less than 640 milligram of sodium, and less than 35 percent of calorie from fat. McDonald will be banned from giving away toys if this standard not met.

Is it correct for the government to guide restaurants what they can and cannot give people to eat? Presume it is your food chain; what will be people reaction? All people know the concern is children who are obese because of extra fat. However, if the government is going to ban toys with happy meal because of high fat content meals, why stop there? Why not ban inactivity in children or video game that promotes such meals and food? Why not ban children from watching the television program or at least put time limits on their viewing? After all, people know the government knows what is good for children, not the parents. Or at least the government thinks so. Citizen of America dislikes government control on their own lives. The role of the government in nutrition should only be offering advice to people on health issues and leaving the decision on what to eat to them (Underbrink, p.2a).

What if the father or kids at home like French Fries? How many people would rather eat nuts with their Big-Mac, or double cheese burger, or even their regular hamburger? Do people want the government telling them that they cannot eat more than 600 calories at lunch? ...
