The glory road and “Do you believe in miracles” by Daniel (Racism against black athletes)
Introduction
"Glory Road"tells the story of Texas Western University basketball team is the first black player, and completely changed the country in 1966 won the NCAA championship the real story. Josh Lucas, a passionate college basketball coach, changed the time history of the sport's team because of his victory, the innocent are still prevalent and creativity.Haskins and his scrappy Texas Western Miners were unwittingly about to revolutionize basketball and American point of view. It was still a time of innocence in the United States, however, the country was on the verge of major social changes when Haskins, during the NCAA championship, decided to put a starting lineup composed entirely of African American players in the game against Wildcats team at the University of Kentucky, overwhelming force composed entirely of whites. Haskins did it to win. But his bold decision would help break the barriers of segregation that affected every segment of society and set a new course for the future when his team did all he could to prove who they were in a world that was watching, playing to die. Black Africans were among the major components of the population of America . The Europeans were slaves in the equatorial regions of Africa , abducted or bought from captive tribes got wars . The Portuguese slave traders first, then English, French and Dutch settlers of America sold. Were employed in the hardest jobs in the tropical plantations of cane sugar , in regions where the indigenous population was poor or had been killed by the severe epidemics. Later, as plantations spread cotton , snuff and coffee , were also used in agricultural activities. slaves were given a terrible deal. They were violently separated from his family and his people and subjected to the harshness of the journey across the Atlantic. His days work was exhausting and, as they had no right, were subject to the will of their owners. That was why the rebellions and escapes of slaves was common.
Thesis statement
In this paper a discussion will be made on construction of an argument about author's view about black racism and relationship with the film “glory road”. The story teaches us that the domain of economic and political people living in large geographic regions served as the conquering group imposing its laws of operation, without which for centuries even think about that right morally justify stronger. But there came a time when it was necessary to find or invent other reasons to permit, under the color of justice, continue to exploit the conquered and colonized peoples, that since that time (perhaps to the XV century) were classified as somatic and psychic groups and lower therefore subject to natural law and logic to the protection of those who call themselves "towns and superior races."
