Summary

Oregon and northern California were once covered with 2.2 million acres of dense forests of redwood trees. But now they are left with just 86000 acres of virgin redwood trees. Mainly of the remaining are covered by public parks and preserves. Private owners own almost 6000 acres of old growth forest, major or in simple words almost all the forest is owned by pacific Lumber Company.
