ABSTRACT

The aim of the research is to examine the energy options in relation to sustainable construction methods adopted by the UK Government. The selected research design for this study is mix research method. The technique in which the qualitative and quantitative techniques are used collectively for data collection purpose is called mixed research. The findings will be based on the case study of Cowboys Stadium that was designed by the Dallas architectural firm HKS, Inc. Besides the Cowboys, the new stadium is used by college football teams and other organizations for other sporting and non-sporting events. The Cotton Bowl Classic was moved to the stadium beginning in 2010. There are a number of UK legislations that have been passed by Parliament to encourage a more sustainable built environment. Two of the most significant in terms of reducing waste are the Landfill Regulations and Waste Management Licensing Regulations, which emphasize on reducing construction waste to a minimum and encourage to recover resources from demolition and to reuse these materials in the new build market. It also examines the sustainable Climate Change Act 2008, Planning Policy Statement 22 & Energy Performance Certificates in detail the next section discusses the UK Legislation in relation to construction practices adopted by the UK government. Finally, it illustrates different sustainable energy practices and policies initiated by the UK Government.
