Introduction

Immigration laws of United States have been immensely controversial in the recent decades. In contrast, international migration often arouses heated controversies and inflammatory rhetoric. That may seem odd in the context of the United States since we like to think of ourselves as a “nation of immigrants.” Why are there such passionate arguments about people who seem to like our country so much that they want to move here? Immigration laws put stress on society, on the environment, on the economy, and on government. More people mean more pollution, more crime, more crowding, and more need for government services. Americans take pride in their immigrant history, but they are also concern about the impact of mass immigration, particularly when much of it seems to be illegal and uncontrollable. They are empathetic with immigrants, but they also are concern about their own citizens and their own national identity. The conflict explains the intensity of the debate about U.S. immigration policy. Numerous Americans are concerned about the illegal immigrants in the country. However, when those illegal immigrants are offered to become legal citizens and contribute positively to the country, then why Americans do not support such laws and acts? What is wrong in providing the children of the illegal immigrants the chance to become legal residents of the country? Why are so many Americans resisting in giving those children a chance to serve the country?

The Dream Act would have the addition benefit of reducing the federal deficit by $2.2 billion over 10 years.” claims policy attorney Adey Fisseha. We need to realize that the more we make it impossible the more the children are not going to want to go to school and succeed in life and become responsible adults. They are going to turn to crime order to survive in the U.S. The way we are deporting so many immigrants because they are not legal here is sad. There are a handful of immigrants that all they know is the U.S. and for them to be deported in areas that are not safe is ridiculous and inhumane. The handful of immigrants who are trying to get educated and become useful in society should have an option to qualify to become legalized. These minors should not pay for the actions that the parents committed.

The Dream Act is the answer to our immigration problem in the U.S. We need to do something to help the minors who did not have a choice of coming over here, but just followed their parents. If these minors are here in the U.S and thriving for an education or serve our country why not give them a path to citizenship. It is not easy as immigrant to stay focus and achieve what you want in life. The more immigrants that become legal they would pay taxes and our deficit would go down ...
