Introduction

According to the analysis of the 'Clash of ignorance', it can be explored that this masterpiece was constructed by Edward Said for criticizing an article published by Samuel Huntington. Edward Said is widely known for his diverse theories proposed. Nonetheless, there are several postcolonial theorists that raised different concerns regarding the theories proposed by Said. The thesis statement generated by Huntington (The Clash of Civilizations) was intensely criticized by Said in 'The Clash of Ignorance' due to the use of different vague conceptions in the work proposed by Huntington. The criticism approach adapted by Edward Said was neutral and there was no personal biasness involved in the theories and conceptions proposed by Said that contradicted the statements proposed in 'The Clash of Ignorance'.

Discussion

Edward Said is a tremendous postcolonial theorist and also an exceptional professor in the field of Comparative Literature. Most of the conceptions enlightened by Edward Said in 'Clash of Ignorance' were directed at vague perceptions about Muslims in Western society. It can be asserted that Muslims in Western society are considered as terrorists that are perceived to be involved in different terrorist attacks acknowledged by different Western countries. Said disregarded this conception by stating that the terrorist attacks and other unsocial acts directed at Muslims can be considered as an act of biasness as one cannot declared an entire community as culpable for the deeds of few.

Due to in-depth knowledge regarding Arab and Middle Eastern society, Said acknowledged that perception about Muslims in the world is vague and must be rectified in order to acknowledge societal harmony. In 'Clash of Ignorance' Edward Said proposed that several statements are directed at not only Muslims but other ethnicities that are residing in Western countries which are not appropriate (Berman, 2011, 4-7). From the analysis of the article, it can be asserted that Said illustrated core paradigms representing the Western society with the world. This statement was further analyzed by quoting the scenario of cold war.

Nonetheless, the article by Said also explored the incident of September 11 and the influence it had on Western countries along with the Muslims residing in the West. Said enlightened that there are several hijacking and suicide bombing attempts that struck Western society and the entire Muslim community was blamed for certain incidents.
