Introduction

History of birth plan

The first birth plan was introduced was written in 1980s for the purpose of highlighting women desires of alternative means of delivery and conveying these ideas to their caregivers. Previously women used to plan regarding their delivery but since the deliveries have started to be done in hospitals in USA from1930s, such experiences have changed such as women give birth alone, nurses and doctors only provide certain knowledge regarding delivery, babies after birth are immediately taken away from mothers.
