Front Matter
This presentation seeks to present the life of the Apostle Paul as the servant leader and his insightful effect on the church. In the lesson one we will examine the areas of character, self-discipline and personal growth of the Paul that any higher authority or the minister should follow in order for the execution of appropriate ministry. In lesson two, it gives the description of how a manger or minister should bring grace in his/her personality like the Apostle Paul did. In the lesson three the discussion will present the characteristics related to social leadership. In lesson four we will analyze the one main element of the leadership and that is spirituality. In lesson five we will observe the characteristics that a capable leader must have.
Lesson One: Self-Discipline
Personal Growth
Even though the Bible does not clearly describe the growth of the Apostle Paul, the growth is not difficult to realize. For instance, we see that Paul was raised in his attitude for difficult situations of the life. The Paul revealed what he experienced over time. He knew what it felt to be the need and he knew that what is had plenty. He had learned to be content no matter whatever the circumstances were there, whether hungry or fully fed, whether living in want or in plenty. The reality that Paul had learned anything indicated that he had experienced growth. One more example of the growth can be extracted from his dealings and communication with John Mark. During a day earlier, Paul refused to provide Mark the second chance. The Mark had kept for some forceful going about their prior mission trip.
Growth of Paul can also be found in his ability of leadership. When he was first introduced as the teacher of the church named Antioch, his name followed Barnabas. In actual his name appeared last in the list of various leadership of the church, whereas the name that is Barnabas appeared first in the list. In the Bible, the sequence of names is not without importance. Since Howard Marshall stated that the reason of why Barnabas lists on the top is that he may have been considered as the significance of the group. In spite of this, in the first mission trip the things got changed. The Luke has put the name of Paul before Barnabas. It entails that the Paul became the main leader in place of Barnabas.
