The environment shown is that of an office. The outer part of the building showing its entrance and a lady dressed in office clothes. The cubicles show the ones that are typical of an office. A person on his work station with the monitor, a board to pin his notes and the calendar give the usual feel of an office.

What happens in the story? Tell the plot of this chapter.

The bestselling writer of Free Agent Nation and A Whole New Mind, Daniel Pink, has the power to influence the thinking of people regarding the world of work (Guffey & Loewy, 2009). Pink also penned down an artistic little book known as “The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need”. In this book, Pink offers the readers a bit of entertainment at the same time giving lessons in an innovative format of Japanese cartoon named as “Manga” (Guffey & Loewy, 2009).

Describe our first view of Johnny. What is your first impression of him? What details give you this impression, e.g., his body language and how Ten Pas draws it?

This book puts in picture the tale of Johnny Bunko, who is pretty much similar to typical boys of his age. He went to school and then graduated, and now owns a job in an organization and department that he is uncertain either he wants the job anymore or not (Pink & Pas, 2008).

Page 3, middle left panel: What is relative size of notebooks and Johnny? What impression does the sizing give you?

The notebooks show the anount of work that is allocated to Johnny. It is a representation of the overburdening amount of work that is put on Johnny. He is required to do more work than he can handle.

Page 5, right middle panel: Describe the expression on Johnny's face ?

The expression on his face shows surprise as to what is in the box. He is expecting noodles but it appears at first that the steam that is kept in the high pressure box abruptly exploded. The result is although something entirely different but it is just that he is in the middle of reacting to the appearance of Diana. Johnny looks scared and shocked at the appearance of Diana.

He is feeling scared as the food has broken the chopstick and it brings out a girl. He gives a shocked feeling at the reaction and that reinforce his words. The girl being above him while he is seated shows the dominance of the girl over him. Johnny has no clue as to what is happening and he is completely shocked and ...
