But they are bad in regard to leadership. The qualities are quite important in the life of a leader, and have to be developed, fostered and nurtured in daily life. John Maxwell starts this book with the debate about the features of the characters. However, unfortunately the concept definition is absent from his work. He has used the concept of truth and integrity interchangeably, and he has assumed that the reader has complete know-how about the different concepts in the book.

John Maxwell has asserted that charisma, commitment & communication are pre-requisites to be a good leader, however, in his book he has failed to acknowledge the fact that these qualities can also have some negative aspects as well. The dictator from German, Adolf Hitler, had a very charismatic personality, and he was known for his commitment and communication skills, but the actions which he took caused millions of people to die. The leaders have to communicate by lauding and motivating their followers, they also have the choice to communicate through fear and intimidation.

The value, which a reader can take from this book, is entirely dependent on the honesty of the reader. The characteristics, which has described in this book, will either affirm a man's exaggerated concept of leadership, or it will make the reader to probe his/her qualities of leadership.
